Capitainer: Funding, Investors & Team (Sep 2026)
We have developed a microsystem based technology that offers a solution for near-patient blood sampling e.g. at home. Patients can themselves conveniently leave blood samples (as dried blod spots) and send it by mail to a laboratory for analysis. This is possible through our new disposable sampling chip that can meter and store an exact blood volume which allows for quantitative measurements, something that so far not has been possible. This is of particular importance for patients requiring continuous therapeutic drug monitoring. Our technology will reduce the need to travel and healthcare resources spent on taking blood samples. We address a major growing market where only in Sweden more than a million therapeutic drug monitoring samples are taken each year.
Capitainer has raised $1.4M across 2 funding rounds on record, the most recent a Series A of $1.4M announced in Feb 2024.
That round is below the $4.8M median round size for Health Care companies tracked on FundedIQ over the last two years.

About FundedIQ's Capitainer Funding Data
FundedIQ tracks announced funding rounds and refreshes this profile every week. Round dates, stages and amounts are normalised to a single format, converted to US dollars, and de-duplicated: two records of the same round announced days apart are merged, and two genuinely different rounds are kept apart on the amounts they disclose. Amounts shown are the disclosed figures only — a round announced without a number is listed and excluded from the total rather than estimated.
Employee counts are reported bands, not exact headcounts. Founder and executive names carry the job title on record. Anything we do not hold for Capitainer is left off this page rather than filled in.
