Horizon Aircraft has created a hybrid-electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft called the Cavorite X7, which can function like a regular fixed-wing aircraft for most of its mission. The aircraft features a fan-in-wing design and a hybrid power system that allows for vertical takeoff, cruising like a traditional plane, and recharging its batteries while in flight. The company sees the Cavorite X7 being useful for various tasks such as medical evacuations, delivering cargo to remote areas, responding to disasters, and military operations, focusing on factors like range, speed, and payload capacity. Horizon Aircraft has designed the aircraft to be adaptable for both piloted and unmanned missions, with a pathway for certification and a modular architecture.
