Ida
Currently, the amount of food waste generated is equal to the level of greenhouse gas emissions produced by the aviation industry in a span of six years. Our goal at Ida is to completely eliminate food waste from distribution. Currently, 150 million tons of conventional fresh produce, such as fruits, vegetables, meat, and fish, are discarded annually. Our objective is to prevent 1,500 tons of fresh produce from being wasted by 2025 by creating the first software specifically designed for French fresh produce ordering and management.

nextProtein develops a new large-scale technology that produces a sustainable source of protein. Founded in 2015 by couple Syrine Chaalala and Mohamed Gastli, nextProtein was launched to help tackle land and resource scarcity using insect protein as feedstock. Like most start-ups, nextProtein began in a garage back in 2014. It was born from the personal and professional ambitions of its founders, who were searching for solutions to change agricultural food production while being able to work and live together. Syrine, an Emergency Operations Specialist at the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the UN, and Mohamed, a Grammy-nominated chemical engineer, identified that they could combine organic cycles of nature with the scalable efficiency of technology, to produce an alternative to wasteful and unsustainable agricultural systems.

At Innovafeed, we are committed to inventing efficient technologies that reproduce Nature's processes on a large scale. By building a circular and zero waste agri-food chain replicating insect's role in nature, we want to reinvent our way of living with higher quality, sustainability and resilience, for everyone.
