PitchBook pricing

About $31,750 a year. But they will not put that on the page.

PitchBook's pricing page is a lead-capture form. There is no number on it, no tier list, and no self-serve checkout. What follows is every public figure we could source, with the quote and the date, plus what actually moves the price.

PitchBook pricing and features on this page were verified on 2026-08-22 . Every figure links to its source.

What actually moves the number

  • Seats. Priced per seat with volume discounts as the count rises, so a two-person firm pays a very different effective rate from a fifty-person one.
  • Firm type. Their own FAQ names this explicitly. What you do determines what you are quoted.
  • Modules. Basic company research and full PE/VC/M&A coverage are different products at different prices.
  • Add-ons. Excel plug-in, API access, custom exports and premium support can each carry a fee on top. Pin these down before signing.
  • Term. Multi-year commitments are where the discounts live, and where the flexibility goes.

Cost per company, which is the only fair comparison

A per-seat annual research contract and a per-account monthly subscription cannot be compared on the headline. Normalise both to what one company record costs and the gap becomes legible. These figures are computed from our live archive at build time.

PitchBook, median contract
$31,750 per year, coverage not comparable

The last row is deliberately not converted to a per-company figure. PitchBook covers valuations, fund performance, M&A and public markets, none of which we hold, so dividing their price by a company count would be a dishonest comparison. The point of the table is the order of magnitude, not a like-for-like rate.

The cheapest way to get each job done

Diligence, valuations, fund performance

Buy PitchBook. Nothing cheaper does this properly, including us, and trying to assemble it from cheaper sources costs more in time than the contract does in money.

"Who raised recently, and who do I contact"

That is a much smaller purchase. FundedIQ Alerts is $19 a month with a 14-day trial, and delivers about 230 newly funded companies every Monday with the round, named investors and a founder.

The full feature comparison is in our PitchBook comparison, including the four cases where PitchBook is plainly the right answer.

PitchBook pricing questions

How much does PitchBook cost per year?

They do not publish a figure. Vendr, which aggregates anonymised real contracts, reports a median of about $31,750 a year with an observed range from $20,000 to $122,500. Where you land depends on seat count, which data modules you take, and contract length.

Why will PitchBook not publish a price?

Their own FAQ says pricing "varies depending on how many seats you need and your firm type", which is a normal way to sell enterprise research. It also means you cannot benchmark it without entering a sales process, which is why third-party contract data is the only useful public source.

Is there a cheaper PitchBook tier?

There is no self-serve or entry tier you can buy from the website. Every purchase goes through a representative, so the practical floor is whatever the smallest single-seat contract they will write costs, and the observed bottom of the range is around $20,000 a year.

What costs extra on top?

Vendr reports that Excel plug-ins, API access, custom data exports and premium support can each carry additional fees depending on how the contract is structured. Those are worth pinning down before signing, not after.

What is the cheapest way to just see who raised recently?

If that is genuinely the job, it does not need a research terminal. FundedIQ Alerts is $19 a month, or $99 a year, and delivers the week's funded companies with the round, named investors and a founder email. That is roughly 0.8c per company across a year.

Does FundedIQ replace PitchBook?

For diligence, valuations, fund performance or M&A work, no, and we say so on our comparison page. For "who raised last week and who do I contact", yes, and for about one four-hundredth of the median contract.
