EpaleX is developing a novel inhaled treatment for epilepsy and migraine. The treatment for the first time provides a way for patients with epilepsy to gain control over their seizures. When a seizure warning sign (aura) occurs, the patient will be able to prevent the development of a full-blown seizure through the use of a pocket nebulizer to deliver a powerful antiseizure medication that rapidly enters the brain and stops the seizure. The effect of the drug dissipates within minutes, allowing the patient to resume normal daily activity.
