Mitos is sandbox infrastructure for AI agents. It gives every agent its own real computer, a fully isolated environment that boots in seconds and runs whatever the agent needs to do, from executing code to driving a browser to building software. The core idea is fork(2) for cloud machines. Mitos forks a live, running sandbox in milliseconds, copying its entire state so an agent can branch, explore, and roll back without rebuilding from scratch. Warm stacks stay warm, so agents start working immediately instead of waiting on cold boots and dependency installs. Every sandbox runs in a microVM by default, giving each agent hard isolation rather than a shared container. Teams can run Mitos hosted at mitos.run or self-host it on their own infrastructure, with no vendor lock-in and full control over where workloads run. Mitos is built for the moment when one developer becomes one developer plus many agents.
