TraceWay: Funding, Investors & Team (Sep 2026)

TraceWay designs and manufactures embedded wearable systems for electronics hobbyists, embedded engineers, and technical researchers. Our flagship product is the Trace smartwatch, a programmable wrist worn device built on open software and hardware. Unlike consumer wearables that prioritize sealed enclosures and services tied to cloud accounts, TraceWay devices are platforms where every layer remains visible and modifiable by the owner. We have manufactured the Trace hardware and are now completing the firmware design based on the Zephyr RTOS kernel. TraceWay selected Zephyr for its deterministic scheduling, preemptive and cooperative threading, and tickless idle operation that yields extremely low sleep currents. For a device powered by a small lithium cell, these characteristics will deliver weeks of runtime and predictable response times for radio and sensor tasks. The operating system compiles with the standard Zephyr SDK using familiar GNU tools and CMake build scripts. Users will modify device tree source files to reconfigure pin assignments, add or remove drivers, and define new hardware interfaces without relying on graphical tools or proprietary utilities tied to a single vendor. Each Trace unit exposes dedicated headers for serial wire debug, UART, SPI, I2C, and digital IO. These connections let users program the device with a standard debug probe, capture serial logs during development, and attach external circuits or sensors directly to the main board. The circuit board includes test points and clearly labeled connectors, so instrumentation requires no proprietary adapters or destructive modification. These interfaces support direct register debugging, power profiling, and the integration of custom expansion boards. Find us at: TraceWay.org

About FundedIQ's TraceWay Funding Data

FundedIQ tracks announced funding rounds and refreshes this profile every week. Round dates, stages and amounts are normalised to a single format, converted to US dollars, and de-duplicated: two records of the same round announced days apart are merged, and two genuinely different rounds are kept apart on the amounts they disclose. Amounts shown are the disclosed figures only — a round announced without a number is listed and excluded from the total rather than estimated.

Employee counts are reported bands, not exact headcounts. Founder and executive names carry the job title on record. Anything we do not hold for TraceWay is left off this page rather than filled in.
